B1 visa query

Hi
My father holds a multiple entry B1 visa valid until 2008. He would like to visit me (H4 visa) and my husband (H1B visa) in the US for pleasure on this visa. I wrote to the consulate at chennai (ChennaiNIV@state.gov) and recived a reply that he could travel with a letter of invitation from my husband. I want to be sure this information is correct. Also, I would like to know what documentation he will require at the port of entry.

If he has vaild visa till yr- 2008, he should be just fine. Take the air ticket and fly. It's alway good to take a copy of your H1
 
Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it. We have sent him a letter of invitation and support and copy of the H1 approval...hopefully there will be no problem. My only concern is that a B1 visa is a business visa...is it ok for him to come on this visa without a business agenda/invitation from a company? I am just worried that this should not be a source of trouble. Any thoughts? Thanks once again for the reply.
