Hello,
Six years back I had my status changed from B1 to H1B. Actually I came twice on B1, and on the second visit, had my status changed to H1B. Subsequently, I returned to India to get the H1B stamped in my passport and re-entered US.
Can this change of status from B1 to H1B, go against me at the Consular Interview? I know now that B1 to H1B conversion is considered as an abuse of B1 Visa (did not know this fact at that time, and even if I did now, I wouldn't have passed up the opportunity to work on H1B).
On top of this issue, I was without a job for about 1.5 months in 2001.
My attorney said, that neither of the above issues should cause any problem with H1B. But now I read a case in immihelp.com, which has really scared me.
And my CP interview is barely a month away.
I would highly appreciate any suggestion, opinions, advice.
Thanks a lot
Sanjay
