B1 Cooling period.

Hi Experts,

I have got an employment opportunity, which mandates me to travel to the US asap, to the client's place. I currently hold a B1/B2 10 years multiple entry visa. I would be traveling very soon, for 3 months, and my new employer would be filing for an L1 for me.

I have a few questions regarding this process :-

1. How long do i have to stay with the company for them to file for my L1?
2. How long can a B1 be extended?
3. What is the cooling period for me to travel back to the US after my first visit?

You can not go "to work" on a B1.
You can not "extend" the B1 so the company can file an L1 for you.
If you spend 6 months in the US, you should stay home for at least 1 year, before you go back to the USA.
