My friend came to US on B1/B2 visa under Medical reasons. INS renewed his B1/B2 for four times. Now he is here for more than two years and missing his family back in India. In order to continue his medical treatment, he has to stay here for some more time. He is kind of skeptical about his B1/B2 renewal this time, because he is thinking that he may not be able get enough documention from hospital this time. Now he is thinking of changing his visa from B1/B2 to H1. He is fully qualified computer professional and is working till he came to US. But he didn't work last two years, here is US. Now question is, What are the chances of getting approval for H1B Visa? What kind of quaries we can expect from INS for these kind of visa changes? (or) Is it a good idea to go back Inida and try again for B1/B2 visa again with limited documentation? I really appreciate if someone suggest for his problem.
