B1 application for USMLE Exam - HADRON

Hi

I am taking the Step 2CS clinical exam in Philadelphia in September 2005 and applied for a B-visa today for travel to the US at that time.

To make a long story short, I was granted the Visa, but only for the period of my trip. I got the idea that the consular official was under the impression that I am seeking employment in the US, which I am not (at this stage). He said that he was not comfortable in issuing me a long term visa.

Should I wish to enter graduate education in the US in July 2006, but need to visit the US before then (once again on a NEW visitor's visa) - for example to sit for an interview, etc. - will I have difficulty in obtaining a B-visa again?

Does the consular officer's "uneasiness" have any bearing on future B2- of J1-Visa applications?

This is a matter of great concern to me. Your assistance would be greatly valued!
