Hi Friends,
I was reading some of your posts on the ImmigrationPortal.com & noticed that a lot of people had the 3 year degree problem like me.
I had my labour appoved on August 19 2006 in EB2 Category. I received RFE for I-140 from NSC for education recently & hence I need some guidance from you.
My Educational Qualifications are as follows:
10 year school + 3 year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from govt polytechnic + 1 year Diploma in Computer Application from private institute registered under govt of tamil nadu +
1 year degree from an American University(Distance Learning University) (this University was State approved, but wasn't accredited).
We had put the Bachelors degree in computer science from that university and the problem was that the University is not accredited and hence USCIS needs that I provide them some bachelors degree or equivlent before my Aug 19 2006 priority date.
The RFE states the following:
" The petitioner is hereby provided the opportunity to submit evidence which would establish that the the beneficiary earned a Master's degree or a bacherlor' degree in
computer science, engineering or math prior to the priority date, August 19 2006. Evidence of education must be in the form of an official record showing the dates
of attendance, area of concentration of study, and date of degree award if any."
I did talk to some educational evaluators they said we can prove the single source 3 year diploma in Mechanical Engg to be equivalent
to US bachelors by doing a course by course evaluation. Based on your experience and knowledge you gained by reading the posts can you please suggest me which educational evaluator is better and how much do they charge?
Any ideas or tips from people who have been in a similar situation would be really helpful. I am running out of time on this one fast, since I have only few days left to reply to this.
Awaiting for your replies..
