File transferred back to Vermont Service Center, anybody please help

I would really appreciate if anyone can reply me.

I filed my I-485 (employment bassed) in March 2003 with Vermont service center then in Oct 2004 my file was transferred to Washington DC local office for the scheduling of an interview. I was waiting and waiting for an interview then on Dec. 7th 2005 I got update that my file has been sent back to Vermont Service Center and it was written that it is taking between 365 and 540 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. I am not sure why it has gone back to Vermont from Washington DC office.

What you think that will I have to wait another 365-540 days after already waiting for 3 years or I can receive any response any sooner.

Please help me with your valuable suggestion.. please

Thanks,
Ismail.

I remember CIS service centers have wrongly transfered some I-485 cases to local offices in 2004-2005 and recently transfered back. Your case might be one of them.
Due to the retrogression situation and uncertain security check delay, you will never know (even CIS doesn't know) how long you have to wait. 365-540 days don't mean anything. You will get approval at any time. Good luck.
