My parents were rejected for their B-2 visa applications.
When they came here last time, I applied for 6 months of extension of stay (approved), so they stayed here for 1 year. The visa officer at the consulate asked my parents
why they stayed for a year, and wanted to see approval of
extension application, but I never thought about that
when I mailed my parents the documents, so I did not
include any proof of approval of the extension of stay.
My questions is, will photo copies of the extension approval
work, since my parents had lost the originals? - Fortunately I kept a photo copy of their approval notices. Does anybody have such experience?
My parents also said the officer said they violated 114(b) -
I think my parents were probably mistaken, the officer
probably said 214(b). I don't know if there is such a thing as 114(b) or not, but 214(b) does not seem to apply to my parents either - they were just lacking some documentation, has nothing to do with immigration intent
(if they did, they would not have returned home the first time the came to the U.S.)
Anybody had any thoughts on this too?
Thanks in advance.
