I would like to know if it is possible to convert from B-1 to J-2 within the US. I am on a J-1 visa employed at a university. My fiance is planning to come here on a B-1 visa and work for a company. I have 2 questions. First question is if we get married here, can she apply for a change of status to J-2 and apply for an EAD w/o going back to India. Secondly, can she continue to work on B-1 until here EAD gets approved and then switch to J-2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
