B-1 Extension Filed. No reciept before current I-94 expires.

Hi,
I filed for the B-1 extension around 30 days before my current stay expires in end of June and suspect that I may not receive the reciept of my extension filing before my current stay expires.

Can I still contniue my stay beyond the current expiration of the stay on the bassis of USPS acknowledgement that they received my application before my current stay expires or I would have to leave becuase there is no reciept and hence no proof that I filed the extension.

Did they receive your application

I think your issue is either your application is lost in the mail or the USCIS receipt notice is lost in the mail.

I think you should call USCIS and find out if they can find your application otherwise it would be treated as though you never made an application.

There was a similar post like this long time ago and I suggested there could be an issue with the return address. USCIS has only been mailing to the residence address in the Part I of the form. They never seem to be mailing it to the mailing label of the form. Sure enough the poster found that the reciept was found at the residence address.
