Avoiding RFEs by submitting docs after filing I 485

Hello,
My lawyer sent in my and my wife's I140/I485 application yesterday.
However, he mentioned at the last moment that my wife's birth certificate will cause an RFE to be issued. I had procured my wife's birth certificate from the Chicago Indian consulate and apparently that doesn't help.

The papers have been mailed in at this point. I was reading through the discussion groups and found out that getting an RFE issued can be a pain.

My wife's original birth certificate is in the native language and does not include her mother's name. Can I mail in my wife's authenticated birth certificate (including affidavits) at this point and thus avoid an RFE? Or is to too late?

Secondly, since my wife's I485 is based on my I485, will an RFE in her name impact my I485 in any manner?

Any preventive help in this issue will be of tremendous help.

Wait for the RFE

If the papers have been mailed to INS, there is no point in sending the birth certificates now. They will get lost as they would not know which file it needs to go to. The best alternative is to send the papers to your lawyer who can submit it as soon as the RFE comes. Getting an RFE is not as bad as you think.

Both your I-485's are independent of each other. Yours should not be impacted.

These are my thoughts, doublecheck with your lawyer.

I have a similar question. Hope to hear from anybody in the similar situation.

When we submitted our 485, we did not get all the vaccinations done. The doctor put insufficient time for the chicken pox vaccine. I am wondering if this can cause an RFE ? (back of 693 clearly says that incomplete vaccinations is not critical for accepptance).

Also, if we do take the vaccinations, would it be fine in submitting them to INS (485 submitted about 3 months ago) ? I am planning a visit to India and can actually bring the original records for the disease. (we gave a letter to the doc from my current doc and he did not accept it).
