Avoid NSC for NIW?

Folks,

I am planning to file NIW by myself. Many attorneys told me I do not have a strong case and also NSC is very difficult for NIW.

My qualification:

Ph.D
8 papers (without 1 first author for all of them)
1 patent (coauthor)
Reviewed 8 papers

Currently working in a pharmaceutical industry and is easy to find another job. Do you I think it worth the effort to do the self petition NIW? How much if I change another job to avoid NSC?

Any advice/suggestion is highly appreciated!

Why don't you try OR? Approval rates for OR are much higher - about 80% by some accounts. Also, pharma companies are raking it in these days and will easily sponsor you. If you can find a company that makes cancer/AIDS drugs or does research in those areas, you have pretty good chances.
