avoid GC cancellation and get back to US for work

I got my greencard in 2007.
Left US to India in 2008 with a re-entry permit (and working in india since then, with occasional short visits to US).
Renewed the REP again 2 years later.
This second REP just expired in april 2013.
Last visit to US is almost 2 years ago (for 1-2 weeks).
I've been filing US taxes as resident all these years.
I'm working for a multinational with offices in US as well.

Questions:
If I need to make a short business visit to US now, do I need to get some other visa?
How long does this take to process?
Does this also mean that my GC will be cancelled?

If I need to be in US for a few months and working, what visa can I avail?

Is there any way to go back to US and continue working there, using my Green card (for atleast a few months)?

thanks a bunch.

You may be able to reinstate your green card by applying for an SB-1 visa at the consulate. Since yours expired very recently you might have a good chance of getting it approved. But you'll have to explain (with proof) what stopped you from returning to the US before your reentry permit expired.
