AVM says \'case not found\'

Hi
My 7th year h1 extension is filed with Vermont service center
on Jan 21, 2001. Every I tried to check the status the automated
voice says \'EAC 01-087-XXXXX not found\'. I am not sure whether it is
normal with 7th year extension cases. I contacted my lawyer, they
said my case is still pending with Vermont INS.
Has anyone gone through this. Or something wrong is happening.
I am getting nervous as my 6year H1 expires in April 2001.

My 7th year extension is also with Vermont EAC 01-083-XXXXX. I have not checked the status so far, but that happens that AVM system may say that case not found. I guess you do not worry about that. My email is rc_1998@hotmail.com. Thanks.

VSC, like the other INS Service Centers, is still holding all the petitions for extensions beyond 6 years, and will not process these cases until further guidance is received from INS Headquarters.
