Automated Number to call for the status of an App. Help!!

I applied for renewal of EAD due to expire October 15th. Is there an 800 number I can call for checking the status of the App. The 800 number Lawyer gave me does not take me anywhere. Thanks for the help in advance.

use the same # which you use to check your I485 case status but instead of entering your reciept #..ie eac#####..,enter your EAD card #..which again should be eac###
