Austin/San Antonio interview & oath

Hi,

Just wanted to know who all are from Austin and are waiting for oath ceremonies. My wife and I have completed our interviews and are waiting for the oath letters. I do have a few questions though:

First our timeline:
Mine:
PD: Aug/4/2006
FP: Aug/22/2006
Interview: Feb/28/2007
Oath: ??

Wife:
PD: Aug/4/2006
FP: Aug/22/2006
Interview: Feb/6/2007
Oath: ??

We both passed our interviews and the officer in both cases on the N-652 checked both boxes:
(1) "you have passed the English, history..... etc."
(2) "Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval. At this time it appears that you have established you eligibility for naturalization. If final approval is granted...."

The questions I have are:

1) Does this mean that the case is approved and we are just waiting for oath or do they still have to go through some more checking? The reasons being that the words "appears", "recommended" and "If" indicate that the process is not complete. Also, when I talked to the officer at the end of the interview, she said (mumbled) that some cases (or maybe all) go to a supervisor to get double checked after a successful interview...

2) The fact that we passed the interview sucessfully, does it mean that the FBI background checks are complete? I know that in previous years they scheduled interviews before completion of background checks, but since mid 2006, due to lawsuits, the USCIS changed the process to schedule interviews only after background checks are complete. Is that true?

3) Who all on this forum are in the same boat as me?

Thanks.

Hi Mario,

Congratulations with your interview. I'm so happy for you. I hope you get your oath letter soon.

Well my case it doesn't look so good. I filed my N-400 in San Antonio last Oct. 25 I got my fingerprint done Jan.6, 2007. But I relocated here in Boise Idaho last Feb 4. so I did a transfer of file they said it should take up to 45 days so my case is pending
:(

But I was so amazed with the Immigration office here, because when I went for my info pass there no people in line (feels like I'm a VIP). The district officer DO went out himself to shake my hands, and he even ask me if I have more question regarding different stuff. And he said not to worry once they get the transfer they will interview my asap and will do the oath right away in the same office . So the delay of my case doesn't bug me too much (I'm a little worried but not as bad when I was in San Antonio). I just woke up so I hope you guys can understand my story.. LOL
Keep us posted! Take Care!!

DrMcCormac:

Contrary to what you might think, it looks like you are in a much better situation by moving to Boise with all the personal/courteous attention you are getting. That's amazing! You can look at that as the silver lining around a dark cloud!

Recently I have been reading discussions on here about the roles the SC plays vs. the DO and what I have come to learn is that the DO plays a more important role especially as exhibited in your case: you are soon to be (or already might be) part of CSC which sounds like it's overloaded, but the Boise DO looks like a cake walk....

So are you going to stay in touch on this SA/Austin thread or are you going to hook up with a Boise thread?

Good luck and please keep us in the loop...
