The CSC expects to lift the restriction by Friday, October 4, 2002. The CSC indicates that the audit is not expected to impact processing times as files were delivered to work stations in anticipation of the freeze. Adjudications will continue throughout the audit, and notices will continue to be generated and sent. Officers will merely retain their adjudicated files until the audit is finished. Fees will continue to be deposited and receipts will be generated for incoming cases. Critical file movements will continue as exceptions to the general freeze, such as premium processing cases and urgent situations. Inquiries that require file movement will be delayed until the audit is over if they require file movement for a response or resolution.
