Jim and gurus,
A company recently filed for H1B petition. I am currently working as a consultant for that company until the petition is approved. The company attorney is a little concerned about my degree. I have a master's degree in mechnical engineering from a US university. I have been in the U.S for 6 years now. The attorney says that they are counting on experience letters which almost counts to 4 years software programming experience in U.S. The attorney says now a days the INS is more particular in having degree in comp science . Now Is that going to be a problem? I did not have a problem with my prior petition whcih was about 7months ago. Now iam tensed if the company does not wish to pursue further. How should approach my company regarding this concern. Jim and gurus please help!!!

I wouldn't worry until there is something to worry about. It sounds to me as if you could get an evaluation stating that your combination of education and experience equals a US bachelors in CS but it would take an evaluation to be sure. I wouldn't worry about it until INS issues an RFE.
