Attorney office and consulting company not giving details on SESA filing.

Hi Friends,
I am working for a consulting firm based in Illinois and they( company and attorney office) told me that they filed
for my labor certification with Illinois SESA few months
back( april 2004). But they are not willing to provide me with any details like case # with SESA or a copy of the petition acknowledgment from SESA. They say they have recieved it( case # ) from SESA but according to their policy they don't wanna share this information with me.

Is there any way I can verify that they have really filed my case with SESA??
Their not giving me the details of case filing makes me very suspicious. What could be the reason of the company / attorney not sharing the case # information with the employee?

I hope that the company is NOT FOOLING around with me. Please help me in my finding out whether my Labor petition has been filed or not?

Thanks,
Sam

you cant do much about it to convince consulting firm business practice (!?!?!?). either they may not have filed your case or dont wish you to use ac-21 when eligible. but those people dont know or assume that we dont know that we can get all our case details from respective departments using freedom of information act etc.

if you have paid even a penny then you have the right to know the case number and your employer cannot deny it. assuming you paid part or full processing fee for your labor then demand your employer to provide the correct case number or return the full amount you paid.
be strict in this. dont be flexible in anything with consulting firms. if you are flexible then they think that you are afraid of your greencard or status and expect you to be more flexible in the future.

you cannot check your case status in illinois state. but you can certainly do it when it goes to chicago dol using employer phone number (try all combinations including applicable home phone numbers, emp tax id etc).
