Hi!
This is my first posting to this forum. My Labor is cleared recently in E3B category. I am having postgraduate degree from IIT, Madras and two years of Experience in Software Development field before joining my present employer one and half year back(who is sponsoring my Green Card). I have nearly 16 years of Experinece in Enginering field. My attornet is asking to get my degrees and work experience evaluated through third party. This is costly affair and I may have to spend nearly 350 USD.

Is it required?
Any opinions on this?

Any suggestions, advise on this is appreciated.

Regards,

Talk to yoru employer .. He must be haing the evaluation copies .. He might have done that for before filing H1.If you have those papers send them .. Other wise you have to get the new one .. I dont think it will cost you more than 100$

Thanks Kishu,

I have Degree Evaluation Certificate. I talked to the evaluation agency proposed by my employer, and he feels that for M.Tech. from IIT, I don't require the Experience Evaluation.
My attorney is proposing to get atleast Degree Evaluation done.

You can send it without the valuation if the money is a big problem. If INS wants it, they will RFE and the case will be delayed until you answer. The attorney who has reviewed the case says it is necessary. That attorney should know better than ANYONE here.

BTW, BCIS does not care if the degree is from IIT or a lesser known university. If it is not a US accredited university, the education needs to be evaluated in most cases.
