Attorney: Courtesy copy not enough for Stamping

My Attorney says that Courtesy Green Card Approval Notice I received from INS will not be enough for Stamping at INS office, Newark, NJ. She says I need to wait for the Original she is sending by mail. In fact it is written on my Courtesy Copy that it will do. But the Attorney says INS, Newark, would not accept even though local offices in other states would. Then I have to wait for another week as INS, Newark, entertains Stamping requests only on Wednesdays.

I would appreciate if someone who got stamping done on the basis of Courtesy copy at INS, Newark, can post his experience. Please also post what other documents are needed.

The officer will properly told you
they couldn\'t do it and you have to
wait for the original copy.

You will get PP stamp.

Your attorney is bullshitting - Courtesy copy is fine !!!

Go ahead with the courtesy copy.

Last week got it stamped with courtsey copy in Hartford..No questions asked!!

No Probelms with Courtesy Copy

I got my Passport stamped yesterday with Courtesy copy at INS, Newark, NJ. There were no problems.

My attorney was incorrect when she said INS, Newark insists on Original Approval Notice.
