I recently posted about my USC husband who'll be going to military basic training till late May '07. I just know that the interview letter is gonna come RIGHT before he leaves and we're gonna have to reschedule. 
Concern: Let's say we get the interview notice b4 he leaves but the actual interview is scheduled for AFTER the date of his deployment - can we walk-in and possibly be seen prior to our scheduled date?
I don't mean to be presumptious but I know first hand that a lot of USCIS' appointments are not really appts. e.g: fingerprinting and infopass - they're merely tools to control everyone showing up the same day - it's really first come first serve. I know a GC interview is a big deal- trust me - but I still wdn't be utterly surprised if I could get there reeeally early, get in line, and possibly be seen in a crack.
