Attempting start-ups, Employment discontinuities ??

If you have tried start-ups and/or had employment discontinuities, would there be any issues as long as all tax returns are filed?

In general, it does not sound like an issue.
Depending on the length of unemployment / startup experimentation, they might want to know how you supported yourself - if you have reserve funds from prior employment, or spouse supported you - they are reasonable explanations - and might require some paperwork to prove it. But again, it depends on how long were you not working, ... and the IO.
