Atlast IGATE Ammended I-140 approved after 5 months of toiling.

Atlast an officer had some pity on my ammended I-140 and approved it. I saw a lot of approvals for guys who had applied 2 to 3 months after mine. But when your luck is not gonna go your way, all u can do is sit and watch the chat.
Some interesting thing happened yesterday. I burnt cash for our third AP ( requested to approve in emergency category- That\'s another story why I applied my AP when it is expiring). That prepaid fedex would have reached INS today. I guess probably the officer thought to see my case due to the AP lookup and found that my case was not approved by mistake for too long and thus she went ahead and approved it.

Hope some officer has pity on my I-485 petition too.
I have seen guys who had their Ammended I-140 approved long back and still their I-485 has not approved or have been transferred as in Deejjjaaaa.

But I have so much trust in my luck that if there is one application among 5000 that they send another RFE or local transfer, then its my application.

Hope my luck improves one last time.

sri1, don\'t worry man. I have a strong belief that most of the IIO\'s at VSC just put all our cases on hold irrespective of
1) Whether an RFE has been issued earlier or not
2) Whether an amended I-140 has been applied/approved or not
3) Whether they received the RFE response or not. and the list goes..

I know of some of our fellow colleagues who got even their RFE (amended I-140 issued and approved back in Nov. 2000) and responded cases were on hold and hold was released since June 19th. Thanks to INS HQ for releasing this memo. Now we all will be seeing our approvals within the next 2-3 weeks time.

I was just gonna apply for my wife\'s EAD today and I withdrew it after seeing the notice. Now I am going to wait and see till monday and then apply for it.

My case was with an officer for the last 3 months. Everytime I called them starting mid of march I got the same answer. Also Igate called them 3 to 4 times and they got the same answer.
Also since beginning of the month, both me and Igate got answers that both the ammended I-140 and I-485 are with the same officer.

I called IIO this morning and I got the answer that VSC is closed due to emergency.

Anybody with any other luck.

Also I heard that local office transfers are for residents of Baltimore and Pittsburgh only because these offices volunteered to share some work load. Is it true?

sri1, sorry to hear this. Don\'t worry. I think as posted by whatthehell, INS might have waited for the AC21 memo to be issued. You will hear your approval soon. Good luck!

Can\'t be sure on that...there are people out here whose case with an offcer for mare than two months....so if one is lucky and the officer isn\'t lazy 30 days is a good estimate
