Asylum interview rescheduled, but no update

A friend went to his asylum interview in nyc 3 months ago. As he got lost, he was late and got there around 9. His inteview time was 7:30. The officer refused to check him in due to their 30-minute tolerance. So far he hasn't got any new notice. He tried to call the office was told no update yet. Anybody had such bad experience? Any idea to push for the interview?

Have his attornery contact the immigration and ask for a another interview date.Dont delay Good luck!!
