asylum green card

hi guys
i am in big problem and now need huge help and thank god i find this forum.here is my story
i was here on h1 and stayed on h1 for one year and was laid off after that i was out of status for one year.after that i applied for asylum and was approved within month now i am us citizen and i apply for indian visa .now they require my indian passport but i told them it could not find it they ask for copy of green card after i was told by travisa that i need to go indian consulate in person.indian officer was real nice and ask me copy of green card and i showed him my copy of green and he said i will be back in one minute he came back with one senior officer and he was very rude and said since you apply for asylum and complained about govt we can not give u visa or any other service .so guys please suggest is there anything that can be done now .can they harras me if i go india through third country .guys is there any help somebody can offer me i made an app with my lawyer

well, sorry for your situation. I think it depends on the mood of the officer you find in any situation. If i were you, i would return to the same office on a different date and shift to try another officer's response. However, if worse comes to worst, you would still consider going back to (those who require your indian passport) and demonstrate the efforts you have put and risks involved in pursuing your Indian passport. They might accept a different document for the same purpose.
