Asylum and marriage... HELP PLEASE !

I am still legal in USA and I just got my OPT, so I have at least 1 year to stay here legally. I have a girlfriend and she is from polond she got her expired middle of 2006 and she couldn't get H1B visa because of our stupid lawyer. Now she has been illigal here more than 6 months and we are planing to get married very soon. My passport expired 2 years ago and I cant extend it.

Do I need not expired passport to get married ?

I am planing to apply for POLITICAL ASYLUM after I got married, and I want to know If I will get ASYLUM how is my wifes status going to be ? even if she has been here illigaly more than 6 monts can she be asylee like me ?

If you would successfully win Political Asylum...
And If you get married with her, and the marriage is prior to the Grant of your Asylum case. She then becomes a derivative, resulting of the marriage.
After one year of the grant of asylum, you both would be eligible to file a petition for your green cards.
