Asylee working for a foreign based firm

Is there any limitation for an asylee to work as a rep for a foreign country based firm? Can she/he travel back and forth due to the nature of the work? And finally, what is the income tax implication for him/her? Will she/he be taxed twice (US and foreign)? Thanks in advanced for the informative input.

reporting Income has nothing to do with Asylee. You need to report any foreign income on your 1040 forms. As to if you can travel back and forth. As long as you have a valid RTD..There is no limitation in my opinion but check with your lawyers please...

I think you can work on the other country instead of your "home country". But becareful about the tight relationship for that country.
Tax is something else. If there is a treaty between that country and US, you will be not double taxed, otherwise, you may need pay more.

Thanks guys. So, how long he/she can stay out of US to work at where the company is located assuming that the RTD is still valid?

I will give a positive answer for that. But, one more time, too long work outside of US may make USCIS found an excuse to deny your further GC or CZ application.

Casius..Ok let me think about this..Ok so if the person you talking about is working for a foreign based firm..it means that country has given that person some kind of permit/visa to work? Correct?....Its not like you can go to a country and start working right?..I dont know if that is "good" in immigrations eyes. I mean U.S Citizen or permanent resident can go and work for foreign company and then report his/her income on their taxes and then go through some checks to see if you need to be re-taxed.

I think you need to get with an attorney because An asylee doesn't give you rights to be somewhere else for long periodso f time...

If you are going to be absent from the United States regularly and for an extended period of time, be prepared to prove to the USCIS that you have not "firmly resettled" in a third country within the meaning of the law.

Ok, here is the example scenario:

The person is only working as a rep for the firm (in this case, that foreign firm will sponsor a working permit if necessary to work in that country). Moreover, he/she needs to travel back and forth and possibly stay for total of a few months/year in that foreign country. Will this situation create a problem during the interview?

Also, on separate issue, will there be a problem for an unemployed asylee during interview?
