Hey yall! I came to US with C1/D1 visa (crew members). I am an Asylee spouse dependant, granted on Dec 2001 through my wife. I have applied adjustment status I-485 on 2003 and I got biometric on 2006; I haven't heard anything from USCIS till now. I got separated with my ex wife on 2004 and finally got divorced on 2007. I have been dating women US Citizen since 2005; she is 9 years older than me and we decided to get married. I have married with my girlfriend (US Citizen) just a couple week ago. We love each other!
My questions are: Can I apply green card based on marriage with US Citizen? How does it work? how long does it take to get green card? Can I drop my asylee status? Do you think there is any problem for interview? Do I need an attorney for my case?
