Assigned to Officer

Trying to understand how many of us waiting on the new found status of 'Assigned to officer' and still waiting. I called TSC couple of times and was told that the case is assigned to an officer. Yet there is no change in LUDs or anything to indicate there is some thing going on with the case. My case details are PD is August 2002, EB3,India,TSC,485 notice date Dec 2004,2nd Self 9th May 2007 and 2nd FP wife's August 2006.
 
I guess your case is in much better shape. I have been getting response that "My case is waiting to be assigned to an officer for over a month. No LUD since the 2nd FP on May 5th. Dont really know what is happening.

May be , May be not. Knowing the reliability of TSC responses, i would not read too much on thier responses. However, i was interested to see how many more have heared something similar
 
I was told the samething yesterday - that it has been assigned to an officer.
But I was also told that it was "just" assigned in the last day or 2.

I was also told, since TSC got 20000 cases, unfortunately that means that still you have to wait for "some" time. No estimates were given on how long the wait would be. Not even a 30 to 60 days estimate.

So, maybe, my case is just 1 of the 5000 cases assigned to the officer, or may be it is just 1 of the 50 cases assigned to the officer :-)
.... you get my point...it's equivalent to saying...NOTHING changed...the infinite wait continues...

When you called how did you initiate the conversation. I tried to find out and the rep said we dont tell whether case is assigned or not. However form her talk Ii could make out it was not assigned yet.

Actually I didn't. Last time I called on Monday and was told "waiting to be assigned to an officer."
On Wednesay, a Case Worker from our local Senator's office called and get the info I provided. I wrote to them last month and she was trying to follow up on my case.
 
oh . thats intresting. I am in NJ. I sent a letter to senator last month regarding this. DO you think I should call them up and find out. How can I know who this case worker is in my case.

vicky, I dont have ti right away, but it should be easy to search for it in this forum. I will see if I can pull up my letter and send it to you

When i spoke to the rep I was told to 'The case is assigned to an officer and give atleast 30 days' before i check further. So i guess this is another way of just postponing things further. Now coming back to the count of cases, i dont think there are thousands of cases sitting with officers. The reason is if they would have those many cases, USCIS would not have the courage to move dates forward. So i believe it is calculated risk that USCIS took by moving dates forward. So most of the people who have been waiting in various states of 485 will see approval in the next few weeks. I could be totally wrong though.

Current Status: Card production ordered.

And received 4 emails also. 2 for self and 2 for my wife. :)

My heart stopped for a sec. I logged out and logged in to make sure i am not dreaming as i have been checking so frequently.

We are neighbours actually :-) I am in PA.
In my case the CaseWorker called me. I guess you can call up once and see what they say.

were there any LUD's before the approval?

Thank you all.

There was no lud change till this afternoon. So i am guessing both LUD change and email happened at the same time.

Wish you all also good luck and i am sure every one is going to get their approval pretty soon.
 
Case assigned

Hi all,

I had an LUD yesterday and I called TSC to find out the status of my case. They said that case has been assigned to an officer for "review".

Has anyone had a similar experience and got approved recently??
