Needed any email address , phone number or fax number for the INS Office in Arlington Virginia , to check the status of pending I485 case

I filled I485 for my wife dated 9/29/1999, adjustment of status. She was approved for work permit on 12/15/1999.
I know alot of people filling after my filing date, had completed the finger print process and had just received letter in the mail
for green card interview. I wanted to check inquire from INS to check the status of pending application, rather visiting the office personally
If some one has any phone number, email address for any INS officer
