Arlington Stamping: 3-4 week delay

I was there at 4.00 am today at Arlinton office. They took all the papers, pictures, FP\'s signatures and told me to wait for 3-4 weeks for a letter of apointment. This letter will be sent after the IBIS check is done. I reequested him to get the check done while I wait because I had to travel pn this friday, he said we can not do anything. They are very strict about it.

There are a lot of us in the same boat. I went on 23rd May. Still waiting for a letter. Arlington is inconsistent. There was a case on Thursday last where they stamped the passport the same day. All we can do is wait.
 
Same in Boston too

I went for my passport stamping on 30th May 02, They took everything
and asked me to come on 17th June 02

We Submitted I89,Approval notice and Photographs on May 23rd and asked us to come today.we done our passports staming today at Boston INS.

we got it stampted last week in arlington, one question, were you single? becuase i noticed mostly for families they are more considerate.

Stamping Notice

Has anyone who went for stamping after 20th May and was told to come back because of the security check got the notice from the INS asking them to come for stamping?
 
Ram, there were only two people that got that notice..both stamped on June 10

I went on May 20. I am still waiting for the notice. It has been frustrating and disappointing to check the mail every day and not find the notice. I\'m planning to go to Arlington office on Monday and check the status with them.

God Idea

Sounds like a good idea. We were planning to go this week but could not go because of my son\'s exams. If you are successful we will try next week too. This is really frustrating. Lets hope this ends soon.
 
Got PP stamped today at Arlington..

Told the officer that we didn\'t receive the appointment letter and it had been 4 weeks since we went the first time. The officer checked the \'past/future appointment\' files; could not find ours. Then another officer joined and asked us to wait to conduct the security check. After 20 minutes, the officer called us and stamped our passports.

We are very grateful this journey has come to an end today.

Thanks for the information. We will go in a day or two and end this also. Did they ask you for any other documents ?
 
Copy of the courtesy approval notice that has been submitted first time and..

the original approval notice. The officer returned the original to us after stamping and took the copy of the courtesy approval notice. No other documents were asked for.

Stamped Today

Went for stamping again to Arlington as 4 weeks had elapsed and there was no notice from INS. I think because of Waiting Long\'s Monday visit they realized they had not done the IBIS check for a lot of candidates. Fortunately ours had been completed by the officer yesterday night (she told us) and they stamped our passports. We were done by 8.30am. The headache is finally over and we are glad to put this behind us also.
