YES, most of us are very tired of waiting...
...but it's a situation totally outside of our control, at least as far as making it happen or getting our GC's sooner. And I have learned (and still learning) to let go of things that I CANNOT control.
There is virtually NOTHING we can do to expedite our GCs. We can try legal angles, non-profit organisations, senators, faxes, letters, and song and dance but the bottomline is that our GC fate is sealed at the Department of State for the most part. It will happen if it will happen.
As far as waiting periods, you are still much better off than many others who have been waiting for over 6-8 years. I am one of those, and know a friend who is about one year before me even. So, the message is simple. There is no magic or trick involved here. The reasons that DOS/USCIS have cannot be fathomed by us mere mortals.
Endless arguments about the reasons, debates, number-crunching, statistics, SQL queries etc. are nothing more than a consolation for our anxious minds to get a grip around this incomprehensible beast. Our human nature wants to stay in control and be on top of issues and problems. Hence, all the analysis, and back-and-forth discussions, but in the end, the Visa Bulletins defy all our efforts and come out with their own numbers.
Ask yourself, if you are willing to wait indefinitely (if it is worth it to do so) or find a Plan B and Plan C. I have learnt to find many other things to keep me busy (outside of work) and continue to find ways to grow and expand myself, both personally and professionally. It is just not worth my time and effort to engage in serious discussions about something that HAS CONSISTENTLY DEFIED any logic and expectation. If and when the GC happens, so be it. If it never happens or gets refused, well, so be it too. I will cross that bridge when I get to it.
Good luck!
