i used to travel to canada by road a lot before getting my green card ( probably like 20 times a year), after getting my green card, my trip to canada actually were less frequent (like 5-6 times a year), but since they dont stamp my passport, i could not rememer all date when i went there and came back.

Do i need to report those trip on my application? how will it affact my application?

thanks for helping!

Yes you need to report them. Flydog may be familiar with this type of questions.

I went for a daytrip his week to Windsor and found out upon my return that the Border Agent would not stamp my passport because I am LPR. I then requested from the Ambassador Bridge toll booth a receipt to show at the Interview that I re-entered on the same day.

In your case, if you have any paper trail (hotel bills, credit card statements etc.) that would help you get a clear picture of the number of trips, it could be helpful.

Thank for your quick reply

what about my trips before getting GC? Do i need to report any trips happened before my 5-years period? Even i had stamped on my Travel doc, i did not keep it because when i renew the doc, i had to return the original. I had a lots of trips 1 year before getting my GC. (because my gf was there)

thanks again!

You don't have to worry about your trips before your GC. However, you are supposed to list every trip since your GC. I tell all my friends when I find out that they have a GC that they need to start a travel diary.

And, yes, leaving the country by road to Canada is, in fact, leaving the country.

I posted something earlier this evening about what we put on our N-400s (we are Canadian and used to live within driving distance of the Canadian border). You should be able to find it by searching.

Yep report all trips outside of the US. Since Canada is well Canada it is not the US then you need to report it. I actually wrote down my time outside the coutry before I got my GC on my application. During the interview the IO noticed I was in India for 6 weeks but just said since that was before my Green Card that didn't count and he crossed it off the N-400 (good since it gave me 6 weeks more time on my N-400). I had a few trips to Canada myself, and I just put down an estimate of how long I was gone for and an estimate of each trip as my passport wasn't stamped either...
