When you e-file your EAD, they will take your Finger prints at local service center. If a person's I485 finger prints have expired, then will this FP taken for EAD avoid the need for second FP for the I485 ? Does any one have a clear idea or experience in this matter ? I am sure that USCIS is clever enough not to make our life so easy. So i am not vey optimistic on this possibility, but if only this FP (for EAD) avoids the need for another FP, then there will be less pain and waiting.

guess they are not related

I had e-filed late Feb and went for FP at the Philly office mid-March, timed it just after 15 months elapsed after FP1. They only took the index finger prints.

Asked the technician working there as to why they are not taking all the fingers.....yeah,tried to be extra smart with them :)....she replied EAD FP is just for identification and this will appear in the EAD card....the one where all fingers are printed goes to the FBI for a background check and they both are different. So you are right CIS never works to make life simple, but makes policies that only complicate things.

Let's see what other members have to say, but this was my experience at Philly ASC office.
