Section 328, INA provides the line "Will the applicant be filing his or her application for naturalization while still in service or within six months of being discharged?"

- for those veterans who answer "no" to this item, and do not meet provisions of Section 329, has anybody any knowledge of ANY official or unofficial considerations given to these veterans (e.g. discharged 10 years ago from active service)

well, thanks in advance for your inputs.

See the table on pages 18-19 in the Guide to Naturalization (search the PDF for "Gulf" or "September 11" and it'll bring you straight to the right place). If you served in active duty during any of the specified periods such as the Gulf War or after 9/11/01, you are exempt from the physical presence and continuous residence requirements even if you were discharged more than 6 months ago.

Thats Section 329. I meant veterans that still do not meet the conditions for Section 329. wow, it would be sensible if veterans generally had a perk.
