Ar11

Hi all:

Excuse my ignorance, but I had a question on filling the AR11 form and would appreciate some help.

The form asks:
a) Port of entry into US
b) Date of entry into US

What should be my answer to the above two questions? I adjusted status from H4 to LPR on Jan'05 in St Paul. However my last physical entry into the US was in July'04 on H4 status in Mpls.

Should my answers be:
a) St. Paul & Jan'05 OR
b) Mpls & July'04.

Thanks for any guidance.

St. Paul Jan,05 in your case.

Help me

I filed AR11 last week. I put in the physical date of entry in the US as the port of entry and date of entry. I got adjusted from H1B to LPR. Do I have to send one again with the Adjustement date as the date or entry.

Thanks

Why would it be "St. Paul Jan,05 "?

Should it not be the physical entry into US?

Did the form ask for "physical" entry? I am not aware of the concept of "physical entry". It's either entry or no-entry.

Probably not, because that's not so important info in AR-11. As long as they have your current address, you are fine. That's the very reason you don't need to file AR-11 everytime you travel abroad and re-enter.

I said that just for easy understanding. When I meant physical entry, It is your actual entry into US.

The form asked for Port of Entry. What they actually mean is 'Which port did you enter'. Ok?

If you are a LPR and got the I551 stamp in PP check this.
The stamp will contain the entries:(It's not CP).
COA--E*(your category).
POE--(here it is first Physical entry in our case).<<<
DOE--(Approval of 485 date)<<<<.
From the above the POE mentioned for us is First POE not last POE.
However from the above it shows it is the Physical entry other than the place where we got the stamp.

...thanks to all of you for your valuable advice. However, what is the consensus then?? What should I fill in the AR11 for POE & DOE?

Gosh, why does USCIS has to make things so confusing for as simple a form as filing an address change!!

Guys/gals, help me.

Amy be at the time of designing AR-11, all the immigrants till
came by boats and became PR at the port of entry and they
never left USA after that date. So every PRs had only one
DOE and POE per life time.

In fact AR-11 form already expired and a new
form never come out

I think that either way is ok

this form is really for record keeping purposes only and the odds of anyone verifying the info is slim.

the way we did it was we put the original port and date of physical arrival.

Where did you get that idea? The expiration from budget office does not automatically mean that the form itself expired. Form is still valid.
