we are all aware of filing ar-11 incase of address change & that this needs to be done until you become US citizen. My question is if i want to be in my home country for 5-6 months should i still be filing ar-11. My question basically is that is ar-11 only for address change within US or even international address.

It only applies to addresses within the US (and US territories like Puerto Rico).

thanks jacko. however, lets say i have a situation like this. and this may not really be hypothetical. lets say, i live in addrees "A" in the US which is a rented apartment & i finish my lease & go to my home country for 6 months. i come back & start living in address "B" in the US. Now, isn't this an address change & at what point are we suppossed to file ar-11

If you upon leaving the country you have given up the lease and can no longer be contacted at address A, you need to file an address change at that time (i.e. when A ceases to be used for you). Not to point to your foreign address, but to another US address.
