My I-485 is pending. I just changed my home and I am going to file AR-11 form for address change. Do I need to mention the
A number(alien number) in the AR-11 form? Please, advise me.

Thanks in advance.

I had same confusion when I sent AR-11. I just left it blank and "Valid to stay in US" as EAD exp date. it's been 4 months now nothing happened. Dispite my lawyer sent address change form to VSC, I finally called VSC and changed address over phone.

hope this helps.

I used I-485 A nomber for Form AR-11, that's what I used when I did finger printing for 485 purpose. But I guess it does not matter.

Hi,
Its always better to call IIO at Vermont Service Center and change your new address over phone, then you can send AR-11 by certified mail to DC office, only for your records.

sanrishi & others,

*Address change (prior to approval of GC) should be done both at VSC (or other applicable center) and at the state department.

VSC (or other center): You can send them a letter or call them to change the address (calling is easier)

State Department: Have to file AR-11!!! Someone's reply in this thread sounded like AR-11 was for records. In fact, AR-11 is the most important of all!!!!! The service center can/should be notified separately.

*Post approval, it suffices to file just the AR-11 with the state department.

Please note that notifying one (state dept. or service center) doesn't automatically take care of the other!
