AR-11 Question

Hi All,

I recently received my green card and am planning to go out of the country for about 2 months. I currently live in an apartment and am planning to vacate the apartment and move into a new one on my return. So for about 2 months I will not have an address here in the US (maybe a POBox).

In light of the above, do I have to file an AR-11 now or when I have a new address in 2 months. Essentially, how will the immigration authority look at my case, if I do not file an AR-11 now.

I would appreciate your response and advice.

Thanks.

Immigration law does not address this kind of issue, beause a perm resident supposed to have a "home" or "residence" in USA. So, in this kind of scenario, there are couple of "options" (or whatever) you have. Use it in your own risk.

1. File AR-11 with your relatives or friends address where you can be communicated. Fill up "temporary" part too (specifying timeframe).
2. Do not file AR-11 now. File after you rent your new apartment ASAP.
3. There is postbox rentals (not USPS) where you can rent post box as "unit" (similar to your apartment number).
