my case has been approved as of yesterday.

the data are
ND 3/99
FP 4/03
approved 11.5.03

good luck to everybody still waiting. i hope that all of us will get their approval notices soon. also i want to thank you guys for providing a great source of useful information. without this forum the wait would have been much more difficult to handle (and not to mention more expensive). thanks everybody!

i have one more question, if someone can help me on this one :)

i have applied for a RTD a month ago and have checked 'asylee' box on the application. now that i485 has been approved, once the RTD is sent, will it say 'asylee' or 'permanent
resident'. if it does say 'asylee', can i still use it? i am suspecting not, i was wondering what would be the best way to have them change it to 'pr' without having to wait 4 months for this RTD to arrive and then apply for a brand new one and wait another 4 months. also i don't have a national passport and don't want/can't get a new one. has anyone been in a similiar situation maybe?
please advise.

thx.
B.

thanks
no, i haven't been asked for any RFE. After i did my FPs back in april, i haven't heard anything else. yesterday the message was something like

Your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status was received on March 1999. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 570 and 600 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.

and it has magically changed to

This case has been approved. On November 5, 2003, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address.

good luck to you too.

Congratulations benko, and enjou your new life. You have nothing to worry about what the RTD says.
I would just use it together with the GC or the temporary resident form given at pasport stamping.

Congrats and enjoy your Green card.
Dont forget to take 3 pictures with you when you go for approval stamping.
As for RTD I think you should write to them with copy of approval letter so the status says permanent resident.

If I were you, Rasylee, I would do an inquiry. It has been more than one month since you replied to your RFE.

Congratulations.

Your approval gave hope to many people in this forum. The USINS is processing cases till Nov of 1998.

thanks everybody for kind words. now that RAsylee's and my case have been approved i hope that that this is a good sign for everybody else who is waiting.
