Hi Guys,,

We had a great Aos interview yesterday. The officer was very polite . Swore us in . Said that he would require evidence to substantiate our relationship. I pulled out my binder and showed our telephone bill. I was getting to the bank account etc and the officer said thats good enough. Then I was asked a few questions from the application .. genocide, conviction, deportaion etc etc.. I answered them all . Then the officer said we are approved and we will receive my card in the mail. The interview was at 3.15pm. We were called in after 3.05pm and we were out of the building at 3.15pm. There is an update today that a welcome letter has been mailed !!!!

Thanks everyone for their help..

Interview OCT 17---- Approved !! :)

Congratulations.

I hope my upcoming interview will be as smoothly as your interview too. After reading many AOS interview experiences, I manage to know that some interviewers are friendly and some arent.

My concern is, I just got a job at NY but my DO is in Chicago because my husband(USC) is a full time student there. I am a sales rep and I have a huge territory including Chicago. I have to make living for both of us. My husband is graduating soon and he will be back to NY soon as his family is living here.
I was living with my husband after marriage.
I decided to take this job because I knew he will be back in NY next year.

I don't know how to convince my interviewer if he/she happens to ask me this question about my proof of employment which I think is likely knowing that my hubby is full time student.

Did I make a wrong decision of taking this job? Should I just quit and stay in chicago till my interview?

I am lost and confuse.
I hope you could share your advices to me. I greatly appreciate this.

if your marraige is genuine i dont see a problem. explain the situation to the officer. I have heard of case on this portal itself where the couple doesnt live together due to work , school reasons etc.. and hey have done fine.. get all your proof of relationship and you should be fine

good luck

Hello Thira,

Thanks for your support. I suppose you have wings growing on your shoulder now. Fly like a bird.:)

Anyway, for sure my marriage is genuine and bona fide. Myself, has overstayed for a year. We do not have wedding reception/banquet but we have wedding photos.
I have lots of legal documents with both names but I just dont feel right.
I lost confidence.

I wonder if they disapprove us, what will happen to us? what will be the next step? Will they remove/deport myself?

God God please help.

hi Jessica,

i dont see why you would have a problem with all the evidence you have. But god forbid if they are not satisfied they usually ask for more evidence and will schedule a second interview. If that happens then you can get a lawyer and go from there. But your overstay shouldnt be an issue as it is pardoned when you marry a USC and file AOS.
Good luck again and any questions are welcome
