Hi all. After 2 years and 3 months, my I-485 has been approved. Here's the details.

I485 RD Dec. 2002 (EB-2, outstanding researcher)
FP1 Feb. 2003
FP2 Nov. 2004
RFE (proof of authorized employment) Feb. 2005, responded within 2 days with H1b approvals
Approved Mar. 7 2005

My LUD didn't changed at all from Dec. 2002 until the RFE was sent to me in Feb. 2005, and then it changed when they received my response, changed again two days later, and then changed upon my approval.

Thanks to all for advice and comments over the past 3 years, including I-140.

Can you tell me when USCIS recvd ur RFE response. USCIS recvd my RFE response on 02/23. No news after that.
 
I mailed my response on Feb. 17th, and they updated my LUD on the Feb. 22 or 23 and said they had received it. My LUD changed again for no apparent reason on Feb. 25 (just noticed it from the website, they didn't send me an e-mail), and then it was approved on Mar. 7/2005. So I guess it was approved almost 2 weeks exactly after they received my RFE. Have faith, I think you're close.
