I want to share my experience and hope this will cheer you up. BCIS did slow down quite a while, but I can not complain them more.
My detail:
RD 11/15/01
ND 12/10/01
FP 4/17/02
RFE 5/12/03
RFE respd 5/20/03
RFE recvd 5/27/03
AD 6/9/03
Stamped 6/18/03
My case is EB2. The original sponsor co. filed my 485 2 weeks after I was noticed of layoff (10/01), because legally I was still on the payroll and hence eligible for the benefit. They promised to let the case going (no withdrawal and no further sponsor for employment letter, etc). RFE asked for an employment letter only. Submitted the letter from current employer and got approved. New employer did mention AC21 in the letter, since I joined the company in June, 2002. I did work for other company before joined the current one.
So, BCIS doesn't really care if you work for the sponsoring employer, as long as you are working for U.S.
Guys, don't worry and GC will come.
