Finally my case was approved on March 29th. My ND is 09/2000. Yes, it is 2000 not typo error. My 140 approved for CP and Chennai consulate transferred my 140 file on Aug2000. After that INS hold my case with no reason. I had asked my local Senator to check my case status on Jan 2001. It worked out INS issued a RFE on Feb2001, asking photo and employment letter. Don’t call IIO very often or don’t ask your lawyer to check the status. Better ask your senator to check the status. Is it courtesy copy ok for stamping in Newark?

How you contact a senator?. What is the procedure to approach them?
I live in NJ and so far the case was between lawyer, INS and myself.

Just call your area congressman and tell about your case. They will send you immigration form where you can tell your case details and attach your copy of your I485 notice.
