I have been a silent observer with only 3 posts during the entire process. I would like to thank everybody who is or has ever been a part of this community. Our case was simple. I was on an F1 visa and my wife a US citizen. I met my wife in April, 2004 during theater rehearsals. We got married an year later in July 2005. We got married here in court and had a big ceremony in India. We filed for my papers in July 2006. We got an RFE 2 months later for Birth certificate; And this my friends was a pain. After a lot of struggle we were able to get one 2 months later. Rest is well elaborated in my timeline.

Interview was scheduled for 02/08/07 at 12:30 p.m. The office was very close to our house. It took us 10 minutes to get there. We reached there around 12:15 p.m. The place was crowded with couples and families (lively atmosphere). We had to wait for only 15 minutes and were called in at 12:30 p.m ( very precise). The officer was a middle aged Afro American gentleman. He asked for our ID's and passport. We were then asked to take oath. He asked us a few questions about the I485 and asked me to verify my name,DOB,address. This was followed by questions about where we met. But mostly he was busy flipping through his paperwork. Later he asked for the letter from the employer. Then he left us to make copies for the Passport.
He then asked for our wedding pics. I could tell he was enjoying the pictures. And thats it! no utility bills...nothing else. He didn't even take a look at our originals. The whole process lasted 20 minutes. Overall the interview was casual with occasional laughter. He didn't asked us anything that troubled us. He said we will hear form him real soon!. He didn't ask for EAD, I-94 etc. (ODD).

We were slightly uncomfortable. But this morning my mailbox was flooded with emails from CRIS. Time to celebrate.!!!!

Your post give me some peace of mind because I notice it's taken almost 8 months to get things processed in Atlanta. I submitted in November and was worried it's taking that long and I am also in Atlanta. Congratulations and I can't wait to have the same peace of mind regarding this matter for my wife.
