After waiting for more than two years i.e. after filing I-485 finally got approved on 03/10/2005. Here are the specifics for those interested:

Filed I-485: 02/19/2003
Filed At: Vermont Service Center
Finger Prints: Done twice for me & my spouse
Transfer Reason: Recieved public Assistance

Got the interview 3 months after the case was transferred. Arrived at the local office 45 mins before interview. The place was busy, the day was cold. My lawyer arrived 10 mins before the interview. Got called in about an 1 hour after the scheduled time... The interviewer was a very nice lady... mostly talked about her family while writing and punching keys on the computer... Asked for employment letter, W2s, pay stubs, birth certificates...

Overall, very pleasant experience.
