Ciba: Pl. update. Handle SC(arp chat) ND 08/00, PD 01/00, EB1, India, FP 02/01.
Recieved letter saying 485 is approved. The letter sakes us to go to the local INS office with photographs, the letter, Arrival/Departure record,I94 and passport to have our finger print and signature taken. First, what is arrival/departure record? Isn\'t it the same as I-94? Secondly, is this what is called the "passport stamping" process? Thanks you all for your help.

I-94 would be your H1-B visa itself (assuming thats the visa you are on).
I-94 arrival/departure record is the little yellow card they stamp and put into your passport each time you leave and/or come into the country

Hi arpchat,

Congratulations on the approval. Arival/Departure record is the I-94.
They refer to the same thing. Take the white one stapled in your
passport and any other I-94s attached on the bottom of your H1
approval notice with you. Good luck for the stamping. :)

No RFE. Just took that long. Dunno why, but I guess there are folks waiting for much longer, so I consider myself lucky.
