I just got my I-130 approved. I'm currently on a student visa and my mother is a PR applying for me. She will soon get her citizenship and an alien # will be immediately available to me so that I can apply for adjustment of status (I-485). I'm currently unmarried but I'm trying to find out what is a good time to marry without jeopardizing my application. Please, help if you have information.
What is I marry after my mother's citizenship (i.e. after I receive an alien number) and after I file the I-485 as an unmarried child of a US citizen? Can I add my future husband to the I-485 so that he can get in the process or that will cancel the I-485 since the circumstances under which I applied has changed?
What is another good time so that I preserve my turn in the line but also add the future husband to the process? Once, I get the alien number, can they take it away if I do get married?
