We just finished our interview and got approved at the end of it! :D :D :D

I can't believe it is finally over.

We got worried in the beginning because she said she was late because she had to call for an ambulance for the previous family. The father had an episode when he was told there was no more diversity visa available for them!

But later she said don't worry, you are fine, I already have your visas!

Everything else was pretty standard; she printed our approval letters at the end.

So happy now. :D :D :D

That's great news - it really seems to be finally coming together for us all. Pity it took so long (and got close to the deadline!) but I'm so glad we seem to be getting through.

Congratulations!

Don't know what to do

Hi everyone!!,

Congratulations to everyone who already got their GC!. I got my interview on 08/22 and on 09/08 an immigration officer called me and said, they are still waiting for the FBI to clear my name. There are 15 days left for deadline, and I don't know if I should go to a lawyer or just wait. This is more than stressfull. I wrote a letter to a Congressman, have no idea how helpful it would be.
Any suggestions??. Anyone knows a good immigration lawyer in New York City?.
any ideas will help
THANX!!

Have you tried calling the congressman? I found out that I got a better response when calling them and explaining the urgency on the phone than on a letter. She didn't know about the diversity visa but once I explained she was extremely helpful on my case.

Did the cis agent give you his phone number? Mine had given it to me and said I could call her. Have you tried going for an infopass and asking to speak with your agent? That maybe worth a shot since it has been a week since they called you.

Here is page where it lists the experience of guy who sued cis:
http://dv.semper-ante.com/

This is a website where you can find old cases, search for cases in New York and see who the laywer is, and if he won it:
http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/

There is a huge thread on this forum about people who are suing the uscis:
http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=194681

I've collected a lot of documents when I was browsing that thread that I put attached here, it may help you.

Also, in there you will find two files that people used in the exhibits to show how fbi can expedite the name check.

Just a disclaimer, I did not use any of those files. I was just collecting them as I was browsing the 355 pages of that thread.

Good luck. Keep us posted.
